In Camino #11, Melanie Circle paints the pilgrimage as river — a winding journey through shadow and light, surrender and strength. Olive greens and ochres swirl together like hills seen in motion, while flashes of red and gold hint at an inner fire pulsing beneath the landscape.

This painting evokes the long rhythm of walking: the way the land changes us, how the body absorbs stories with each step. The sweeping motion suggests movement through terrain and time, as if memory, longing, and belonging are braided into the path itself.

Created in her Quadra Island studio from sketches and sensations gathered along the Camino de Santiago, Camino #11 hums with the mystery of forward motion — and the peace found in flow.
